Midwest Region Preview - NCAA D1 XC Midwest Regional

#3 Oklahoma State comes into this meet with a lot of questions.  The Big-12 meet shows that the injury bug may have hit the defending NCAA champions.  A "B" squad from the Cowboys hammered the reputation of Oklahoma State at the Wisconsin Adidas meet and a weaker than expected performance at the Big-12 meet confirmed those concerns.  Still, there is a lot of talent and it will be hard to prevent Ok State from making the NCAA championships.

The men will face #13 Tulsa, who is finally at full strength after international competitors Chris O'Hare (defending region champion) and Andy Heyes returned from their summer competitions at the World championships. #24 Iowa State men are still a little behind the reputation of the Cyclone women but could run well enough to get one of the 13 at-large bids if they can't upset to get an automatic bid.

#7 Iowa State is headed by Andrea Grove-McDonough and #16 Minnesota is headed by another first year coach Sarah Hopkins.  Most of the top ten from last year's individual race are gone it will be a open race for the winner. An at-large bid is unlikely.
